Credentials matter!
Laura is an Accredited Member with the American Society of Appraisers and a Certified Valuation Analyst with the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. The SBA requires an appraisal by an accredited appraiser, as do most courts and the IRS. If you only need a ballpark figure, you do not need an accredited appraiser. If you want a substantiated report that includes deep-dive research into economic and other value drivers, an accredited appraiser is an excellent choice to meet your needs!
Do we need an Appraisal Report?
If you are about to sell your dealership and simply want a value to determine a listing price, we can refer you to excellent brokers who can assist you with valuing your dealership for an impending sale. If you are still in the planning stage, an Appraisal Report with its deep-dive analysis can help you understand the current value, how it developed over time, and how you can drive it to reach a higher value in the future. In other cases, such as disputes, tax-filings or finance applications, an accredited Appraisal Report is often the best choice to meet requirements of most courts, the IRS or SBA. If you are preparing a succession plan, your CPA or attorney may request an Appraisal Report that conforms to the Uniform Standard of Professional Appraisal Practice. As always, we offer a free, confidential consultation to discuss your situation and make recommendations to meet your needs.
We specialize in dealerships: automotive, motorcycle, tractor, RV and marine retailers.

What is an Appraisal Report?
We adhere to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice. Real estate appraisers are required to follow these standards. Business appraisers are not. In practice, that means almost anyone can perform a business appraisal. Accredited appraisers, however, produce Appraisal Reports that conform to their accrediting organization's standards. We go through intense education, training, review and ongoing professional education to be sure that we provide you with a report that meets your needs and the requirements of third-party agencies such as the IRS or the SEC. Appraisers use finance, accounting, analytics, research and business knowledge to provide you with an Appraisal Report that clearly states the value of your business and how the appraiser came to that conclusion. We take pride in producing substantiated, clear and concise valuations. If you cannot follow our reasoning or methods, it is not a sufficient Appraisal Report!
